Happy Thanksgiving!

Good Evening Parents!

I would like to wish all of you a very happy and relaxing Thanksgiving weekend! I hope it is filled with family, happiness and love. Please remember that there is no school tomorrow, and winter uniforms come into effect on Tuesday! Students must wear their long sleeve dress shirt, tie and blazer!

UOI: Our first UOI is coming to an end. Students have been sent home with their summative task. Please review the task with the kids and sign the first page of the task. We will be starting it next week.

Today we compared the similarities and difference between the American and Canadian Thanksgiving. We read a story called "Two Thanksgiving" and looked at a poster that gave us more information about how the two thanksgivings differ. While reading the story students were able to see that they think before, during and after they listen or read stories. We used our comprehension strategies and visualized the story to better understand it.

Please have the children reread the information on the Physical Regions in Canada that can be found in their Green UOI folders.  See below for a practice quiz.

Students then completed a foldable, and will have to complete some research to find renewable and non-renewable resources in the province or territory that they have chosen to research. Children are able to show their learning in picture, words or in pictures and words.
