Hello Everyone!

Please wear your house tie tomorrow!

We will be celebrating Guy Fawkes Day on Friday November 4th. Please see a copy of the poem below, as students are asked to memorize it for Friday.

The Fifth of November

    Remember, remember!
    The fifth of November,
    The Gunpowder treason and plot;
    I know of no reason
    Why the Gunpowder treason
    Should ever be forgot!
    Guy Fawkes and his companions
    Did the scheme contrive,
To blow the King and Parliament
    All up alive.
    Threescore barrels, laid below,
    To prove old England's overthrow.
But, by God's providence, him they catch,
With a dark lantern, lighting a match!
    A stick and a stake
Holloa, boys! holloa, boys! make the bells ring!
Holloa, boys! holloa boys! God save the King!
    Hip, hip, hooor-r-r-ray!

Scientist in the school permission form and money due Friday November 4th!

Spa basket donations are due Nov. 15th.

UOI:  Today we discussed different noises we hear in the environment, and how humans make noise to show our emotions. Students then began working in their groups to create a skit with no talking, only sounds. Students will have tomorrow to practice and Monday they will present. They are allowed to bring in props to make their presentation top notch!

Math: We worked on mass today. We learned that 1kg is the same as 1000g. Students estimated the mass of five different items, and then used a scale to measure the actual mass. We also estimated the mass of everyday items.

Math test is on Tuesday November 8th.

Hello Everyone!

It's crazy to think that 2 months of school has flown by and December is right around the corner!

St. Jude’s Academy is excited to welcome back to our school the talented artists from ArtReach Mississauga to lead exciting art workshops for our students.  Students will have a chance to join the ArtReach professionals for a two hour workshop at SJA that focuses on engaging and comprehensive visual art activities. ArtReach will be joining SJA on November 30th, December 1st and December 2nd. The cost of the workshop is $15.00.  This cost includes the workshop fee, and all materials.  Forms and fees are due back to the school by November 3rd, 2016.

We will be celebrating Guy Fawkes Day on Friday November 4th. Please see a copy of the poem below, as students are asked to memorize it for Friday.

UOI:  In Light and Sound we turned up the volume. Students created funnels to see if it would magnify sound and if it would help you hear better if it was used as a ear funnel.

Math: We worked on Capacity today. Students really seemed to grasp the concepts of 1L=1000mL. Students can look around at home and see how many litres and millilitres are in containers. Students can then convert the amount to the opposite unit.
