Big Reminder: RE-REGISTRATION is due FEBRUARY 9th, 2017

Medieval Times Permission form and Money is due TOMORROW! February 8th, 2017. There will be no exceptions to late submissions and Mrs. Hocevar and myself have to send final numbers to Medieval Times tomorrow.

UOI:  We learned about the Black Death today. We learned that it spread through Europe very quickly, and that it infected most people where they traded, and it was highly populated. It was transferred by rats, and most people would die within 2 to 4 days of contacting the disease. Children played a game called "Run from the Plague" which simulated the spread of the disease.

Students are working on a "Wanted" Poster. Here are some examples below. Wanted Posters are due on Friday!

Math: Today we learned about quadrilaterals.  We learned that QUADRILATERALS are shapes with 4 sides and 4 angles. We also learned that there are a few different types and they can be classified by their parallel sides, and the length of their sides. 

Please bring in empty toilet paper rolls, cereal boxes, tissue boxes etc. to school. We will need these for the end of our Geometry unit.

Language: Spelling Lesson 20 due Friday. Spelling Test Friday!

We will be having our final OWA assessment this coming week. Students can be practicing writing summaries at home by reading a book and then writing a summary. Today we read an article about the invention of gum. Students will be writing a summary on the article. 

Speeches should be completed by the end of the week. This includes good copy! Next week we will be starting our practice periods. A rubric will be sent home with your child this weekend so they are familiar with how they will be marked. Students are expected to have their speeches memorized. Oral Competition is on Feb. 24th.
