Good Afternoon Students and Teachers!
It was another successful day in grade 4!
This morning we had a pre-test in math for the unit of math we will be beginning next week. Our first unit in math will be Number Sense and Numeration. The kids know it as Place Value. We will be learning numbers up to 10, 000. By the end of the unit, the students will be able to read and write numbers up to 10, 000. They will also be adding and subtracting numbers up to 10,000 and solving word problems. Please see the link below that will support our learning in the class as well as at home!

At noon today the school joined in the auditorium for our house game! The ENTIRE school took part, and joined in the school spirit. Students had to use mats to walk over the molten lava. Here are some pictures of the fun!
During our last period, students completed a reading survey about the books they have read, and what they are reading. Students should reflect at home what they do best when they read, whether it is that they are able to visualize pictures well when they read, have good fluency or are able to read difficult words should all be celebrated. Students should also set goals on what reading skills they would like to improve on.
Students are currently working on their "selfies". I can't give too much away as we would like to show you our work at the Welcome BBQ!
Lastly, we devised a point system with our house points. Students can receive 100 points per day for their house if they get their agenda signed. Mom and Dad, if you want to help out with points remind the kids to pull out their agenda!
Reminders:
-Tomorrow is spirit day! Wear your house colours!
-Lunch order forms are due tomorrow
-Please bring back parent teacher contact information sheet as soon as possible. This sheet allows me to know how I can contact you best!
-Please sign the last page in the Student Handbook. I have emailed the handbook out again.
-Welcome BBQ is on September 15th! I will be sending out forms tomorrow. Please return ASAP!!
Here are a few more pictures of us working hard at the end of the day!
